Kiwibank New Zealand Local Hero of the Year 2017

At SWE we’re very proud of our community involvement – and proud of our staff that get out there and do it. On that note, we’re delighted to tell you that SWE’s Business Development Manager, Dean Marshall has just been awarded “Kiwibank New Zealand Local Hero of the Year” for his services to scouting.

Dean has been committed to scouting leadership roles in Marlborough for over 20 years, and actively supports many of the Scouts and Cubs’ fundraising efforts.

“The Kiwibank Local Hero Award aims to identify & reward everyday people doing extraordinary things in their local communities. The Local Hero Awards recognizes the enormous contribution, sacrifice, and commitment of Kiwis who selflessly work to make their local communities a better place.”

The Kiwibank Local Hero Awards, now in their ninth year, were created to recognise and celebrate people in the community who made a positive contribution in their region. Marlborough’s local heroes recognised in 2017 were Dean Marshall, Kevin Moseley, Tania Silcock, Shirley Hocquard, Kathryn Margaret Webb, Donald Helman, Walter Scott, Ben Hide, Elizabeth Buttimore, Jason Walker, Mark Rea, and Jennifer Anne Eatherley.

Mayor John Leggett presented the winners with their awards and commended them on their contribution to the community.

Congratulations Dean – recognition well-deserved.
